There are a lot of emotions that come with an empty nest. Women process it differently than men, and our emotions can cause a man to wonder what the remaining years will bring.
Here’s my message to the man that God blessed me with 31 years ago.
You joke about it, but let me assure you:
You did not marry “above your head”– I am the luckiest girl in the world.
I am not “stuck” with you now that all the kids have grown and left our little nest–our hearts were super-glued together a long time ago…
I look forward to growing old together--gray hair or no hair, in sickness and in health.
And because you still tell me I’m beautiful– I am grateful you need reading glasses. :0)
And, YES, I still adore you. You make me smile. You inspire me. You amaze me.
Oh, and by the way, in case you were wondering…
For all you romantics out there, feel free to print it or download it here in coral.
I made it with my Photoshop Elements 11 and have it available in Coral, Gold, Taupe and Gray. I’m not selling them, but if you’d like one of those colors, just leave a comment and I’ll be happy to send it to you!
Here’s the coral version that I made to match the towels in my bathroom:
Have a great day!
Song of Songs 6:3 (NIV)
“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine;”
OOPS!–TWO “jokes” is too much. It was supposed to say “listen to your stories”, so I fixed it–and in the process decided I wanted the coral to match my bathroom so it wasn’t all bad! :0)
