“Lord,
this is hard.
Some days I feel like
I have it all under control;
life goes along swimmingly
until the next thing comes along
and I feel like I’m drowning.
Just when I think it’s all
under control,
I realize that I have taken
the reigns
and
am
losing
my
grip.
Arms open wide, I cry out,
“I can’t do this!”
“It’s too hard!”
In surrender, I realize
that’s what You wanted all along.
They are Yours, not mine.
I am but a steward,
a caretaker.
You have trusted me with them,
and only You can give me the wisdom
I so desperately need
to be the mother
You created me to be.
Lord, give me the wisdom
to know
and
the courage
to obey.”
