The Beauty of the Desert

While I love the four seasons we enjoy in the Midwest, I am always in awe of God’s creation whenever I travel to other parts of our beautiful country. Some would think that the dry desert is barren and boring, but I totally disagree!

I am in Arizona this week, and even though I left my camera at home, these shots with my iPhone will give you a glimpse of this beautiful land:

Beauty in the Desert

Vermillion Flycatcher

“The wilderness and the dry land will be glad; the desert will rejoice and blossom like a rose. It will blossom abundantly and will also rejoice with joy and singing.”  Isaiah 35:1-2

  1. Reminds me of seeing the saguaro (sp?) cactus for the first time. I couldn’t wait to see my first cactus in its real environment when we made our first trip to Arizona, where we lived for 3 whole months in Tucson in 1957.
