The Face of Fear

We all experience it.
Fear is no stranger to this generation of terror.

The face has changed, but the heart of this evil remains the same.

There will always be people who despise the good and true and right.  Who want to steal, kill, and destroy.  Sound familiar?

“The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy.”

BUT GOD.

He knows.  He sees.  He has a plan.

We just have to keep following.  Keep trusting.  Keep loving.

“Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”  John 14:21

”The question here is not, “what will I do if…” or “how can I prepare for this…” or even, “how can we stop it?”.  The questions we have are only answered correctly if we are seeing this from an eternal perspective:  God is in control and,

God is still God.

Even the bad things of this world will be brought to an end.

We live in a fallen world, and bad things happen, even to those we would label “good”.  No one is exempt and no one can escape the evil of this world.

And it would all be quite depressing and overwhelming,

IF we didn’t know that God is in control.

And heaven is real.

AND.THIS.IS.NOT.HEAVEN.

So, today, lets just be grateful for who He is and choose to trust Him.

I will give You thanks with all my heart;
I will sing Your praise before the heavenly beings.
I will bow down toward Your holy temple
and give thanks to Your name
for Your constant love and truth.
You have exalted Your name
and Your promise above everything else.(C)
On the day I called, You answered me;
You increased strength within me.[b](D)

All the kings on earth will give You thanks, Lord,
when they hear what You have promised.[c](E)
They will sing of the Lord’s ways,
for the Lord’s glory is great.(F)
Though the Lord is exalted,
He takes note of the humble;
but He knows the haughty from a distance.(G)

If I walk into the thick of danger,
You will preserve my life
from the anger of my enemies.(H)
You will extend Your hand;
Your right hand will save me.(I)
The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me.(J)
Lord, Your love is eternal;
do not abandon the work of Your hands.
