Encouragement

If You Give A Mom a Minute

If you give a Mom a minute,

she might just take a breath.

And though she could spend it on herself,

she will probably do laundry.

If you give a Mom a minute,

She might just take a bath,

but she will see the toilet,

and she will feel an incredible urge to start cleaning.

Give a Mom a minute,

and she might just eat some chocolate,

but it will taste so good that she will remember how much you like brownies,

and she will bake you some.

And when she bakes you some, it will be perfection.

But she might have to eat one herself just to be sure.

If you give a Mom a minute,

she will probably take a walk

or read a book,

or walk the dog, or read her Bible,

AND

If you give your Mom a minute,

her minutes become yours, because

you are never far from her thoughts

and are always in her prayers,

and giving Mom a minute will

show her that YOU care.

Proverbs 23:25

“Love must be without hypocrisy.  Detest what is evil; cling to what is good.  Show family affection to one another with brotherly love.  Outdo one another in showing honor.  Do not lack diligence; be fervent in spirit; serve the Lord.  Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer.”  Romans 12: 9-12

  1. What a beautiful poem! So much truth about the beauty of motherhood! It reminds me a bit of the tempo “If You Give A Mouse A Cookie”.

  2. Oh my goodness Vicki! This is so incredibly beautiful. My eyes are misty right now. Your words really captured the essence of motherhood. And what a wonderful day to have enjoyed this post. Today, May 10th, it’s Mother’s Day in Mexico (my second home). Thank you so much for brightening my day. 🙂
